lating to the powers and duties of the Mayor, Aldermen and
Common Council of Frederjckj to follow section 169, added
thereto by the Act of 1868, chapter 87.

Said bill being upon its passage,

On motion of Mr. Ritter,

The further consideration thereof was postponed, and the
bill made the order of the day for Tuesday, first of March.
Also,

A bill entitled an Act to repeal sections 101, 102, 105 and
145, of Article 11, of the Code of Public Local Laws of Fred-
erick county, relating to the powers and duties of the Mayor,
Aldermen and Common Council of Frederick, and to re-pnact
the same with amendments.

Also,

A bill entitled an Act to provide free scholarships in the
Burkettsville Female Seminary, and to prescribe the mode of
appointing beneficiaries.

Which was read a first time and referred to the Committee

on Ways and Means.

Mr. Hammond, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported
favorably,

A bill entitled an Act to prevent the sale of spirituous or
fermented liquors on Tilghman's Island, Talbot county, or
within three miles thereof.

Which was read a first time.

Mr. Shipley, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported
favorably,

A bill entitled an Act to repeal sections 102, 103, 104,
107 and 108 of the Public Local Laws of Baltimore county,
relating to fences, and to re-enact the same with amend-
ments.

Which was read a first time.

Mr. Hardcastle, of Caroline, Chairman of a Select Com-
mittee, reported favorably,

A bill entitled an Act to repeal sections 98, 99, 100, 101,
102, 103, 104, 105,106, 107, 108, 109, 110, 111, 112 and
113, of Article 6, of the Code of Public Local Laws, under
title "Caroline County," sub-title "Greensborough," and
the Act of 1868, chapter 96, and to re-enact the following in
lieu thereof.

Which was read a first time.

Mr. Cameron, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported
favorably,
