On motion of Mr. Murdock,
The order was laid on the table.

Mr. Harrington, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported
favorably a bill, entitled an Act to provide for the protection
of Mocking Birds in Dorchester county.

Which, was read a first time.
On motion of Mr. Biddle,

At 1 o'clock, P. M., the House adjourned until to-morrow
morning at 11 o'clock.

FRIDAY, January 14th, 1870.

The House met, and was opened with prayer by the Rev.
Mr. Southgate.

The Journal of yesterday was read.

Mr. Morse presented the petition of W. A. Toll«y to refund
fifty dollars paid for license under the Oyster Law.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Claims.

Mr. McLane presented the petition of Alexander Brown &
Sons, asking to nave certain taxes refunded.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Ways
and Means.
