On motion of Mr. Cameron,

Leave was granted to the Baltimore county delegation to
introduce a bill to authorize the Commissioners of Baltimore
county to levj a sum of money to pay for the rebuilding of
two bridges near Win. H. Hoffrnan's Paper Mills, in the
sixth election district of Baltimore county.

On motion of Mr. Marbury,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
introduce a bill to amend the charter incorporating the vil-
lage of Bladensburg, Prince George's county, Maryland.

On motion of Mr. Turner,

Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
introduce a bill entitled an Act to amend Article 1, section
1, of the Constitution of Maryland, entitled "Election Fran-
chise."

Mr. Merrick, Chairman of a Joint Select Committee, on
the part of the House, submitted the following

JOINT RESOLUTION.

Be it resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the Treasurer is hereby required and directed, under the
direction of the Governor, to sell the remaining bonds of the
Defence Loan to the amount of three hundred and eleven
thousand nine hundred and seventy-nine dollars and seventy-
four cents, the proceeds to be applied to the current wants of
the Treasury, and to be reimbursed to said Defence Loan
Fund from the general revenue, wheuevei the same may be
required for disbursement under the provibions of expiring
laws.

Which was read a first time.

Mr. Merrick moved that the rules be suspended and the
Resolution read a second time this day.
