460 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Feb. 24,

Messrs. McLaoe, White and Hardcastle, of Talbot, appoint-
ed said Committee.

Mr. Morse submitted the following order :

Ordered, That it be entered on the Journal of this House
that Mr. John R. Blake, of Baltimore city, was absent on
Monday and Wednesday, on public business.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Veitch submitted the following order :

Ordered, That it be entered upon the Journal that Mr.
Sanner is absent from his seat in the House on account of
important and urgent private business.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Watkins called up the order submitted by him on
yesterday,

That after Friday next, the daily sessions of this House
shall commence at 11 o'clock, A. M., instead of 12 o'clock, M.

Which was adopted.

On motion of Mr. Marbury,

Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
introduce a bill to authorize the Clerks of the Circuit Courts
of this State, the Superior Court of Baltimore city, and the
Clerk of the Court of Common Pleas of said city, to enter
a judgment during recess of the Court, upon the production
of a written agreement by the parties to a suit.

On motion of Mr. Baldwin, of Anne Arundel,

Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
introduce a bill to repeal section 13, of the Code of Public
General Laws, title "Landlord and Tenant," sub-title
"Distress for Rent," aad to re-enact the same with an
amendment.

On motion of Mr. Baldwin, of Harford,

Leave was granted to a Select Committee on the Peniten-
tiary to introduce a bill to encourage good behavior in the
prisoners of the Maryland Penitentiary.

On motion of Mr. Winters,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
report a bill to incorporate Worthington Valley Homestead
and Baughman Valley Railroad Company.

On motion of Mr. Turner,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
introduce a bill to incorporate the Baltimore Savings Loan
and Trust Company.
