seven, of Public Local Laws, title "Carroll county," sub-
title "Mount Airy."

On motion of Mr. Banner,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
introduce a bill to amend the charter of the Baltimore Per-
manent Building and Land Society.

On motion of Mr. Crawford,

Leave was granted to the Wicomico delegation to intro-
duce a bill to empower and direct the County Commissioners
of Wicomico county to levy money, out of the taxable prop-
erty of said county, to prosecute a certain bond given for the
erection of public buildings in Wicomico county.

On motion of Mr. Grouse,

Leave was granted to the Carroll delegation to introduce a
bill to empower the Commissioners of Carroll county to levy
a tax to pay Robert J. Jemison for the boarding of Benjamin
Jemison, lunatic pauper.

On motion of Mr. Cratch,

Leave was granted to the Baltimore county delegation to
introduce a bill to amend the charter of the Warren Manu-
facturing Company of Baltimore county.

On motion of Mr. Banner,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
introduce a bill entitled a supplement to an Act entitled an
Act to incorporate the Monumental Saving Institution.

The Secretary of the Senate returned the following House
bill.

Endorsed, "Passed by yeas and nays with proposed amend-
ment."
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Strike out all in. the 2d section after the word "section" in
the 2d line, and insert the words: shall be guilty of a mis-
demeanor, and on conviction thereof, in the Circuit Court
for said cotinty, shall be fined not less than ten dollars, or
not less than twenty dollars, or be imprisoned in the county
Jail not exceeding twenty days, or until the payment of said
fine and costs, one-half of 'said fine to be paid to the County
Commissioners of said county for the use of the Public Schools
of said county, and the other half to the informer.
