So the motion to lay the order on the table,

Was decided in the negative.

The question then recurring upon the adoption of the order,

It was adopted.

Mr. McCreery submitted the following order :

Ordered, That all bills now on file or hereafter introduced,
providing for the incorporation of companies, or for the amend-
ment of such charters, be referred to the Committee on Cor-
porations,

Which was rejected.

On motion of Mr. Lankford,

Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
introduce a bill entitled an Act to provide for the legal rate
of interest, and to authorize contracts in writing for any
rate of interest not exceeding ten per centum per annum.

On motion of Mr. McCreery,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
introduce a bill to incorporate the Berlin Bridge Company, of
Frederick county.

On motion of Mr. Harrinston,

Leave was granted to the Dorchester delegation to intro-
duce a bill for the better protection of sheep in Dorchester
county.

On motion of Mr. Marbury,

Leave was granted to the Prince George's delegation to
introduce a bill for the purpose of compelling owners of
swine, in Prince George's county, to keep the same within
proper enclusures, so as to prevent trespass by the same.

On motion of Mr. Markland,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Inspections to in-
troduce a bill to define the duties of the Fire Inspector for
the city and county of Baltimore.

On motion of Mr. Crouse,

Leave was granted to the Carroll delegation to introduce a
bill to repeal sections thirty-five and thirty-six, of Article-
