lowing section relating to said subject in lieu thereof, re-
ported back the same with proposed amendment:

AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Strike out sub-section '"7," and insert the following in
lieu thereof:

7. They shall, where any error has arisen by assessing
property not liable to be assessed, rectify such error, and
levy and pay to the proper party any money that may have
been paid in consequence of such error; this section to apply
also to the Judges of the Appeal Tax Court, of the City of
Baltimore; and the Judges of the Appeal Tax Court of said
city shall pass an order directed to the Register of said city,
who shall pay thereupon to the proper party any money that
may have been paid in consequence of such error.

Which was read.

Mr. Merrick, Chairman of the Committee on Ways and
Means, reported favorably on the following bills :

A bill entitled an Act to amend ,and re-enact sections 86
and 95, of Article 4, of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Baltimore city, entitled "Auctions."

Which was read a first time.
Also,

A bill entitled an Act to amend Article 34, of the Code of
Public General Laws, relating to the Public Debt, by re-
pealing the second section thereof, and substituting another
section in its place.

Which was read a first time.

Mr. Morse, Chairman of the Committee on Corporations,
Reported favorably,

A bill entitled an Act supplemental to the Act of 1867,
chapter 354, incorporating the Queenstown and Harrington
Railway Company

Which was read a first time.

Mr. Crawford, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported
favorably,

A bill entitled an Act for the better protection of Fur, in
Dorchester and Wicomico counties.

Which was read a first time.

Also,

A bill entitled an Act to add an additional section to the
Public Local Laws of Wicomico county, to be entitled
"Witnesses."
