gany county.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Corpo-
rations.

Mr. Collins presented the petition of Clarence Shriver and
95 others, asking the passage of a law prohibiting the manu-
facture of tin cans for oysters and fruits, in the Maryland
State Penitentiary.

Which was read and referred'to the Committee on Manu-
factures.

Mr. Wells presented the petition of Julia Mopps, asking
for a pension.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pen-
sions.

Mr. Veitch presented the petition of George P. Pope and
other citizens of Montgomery county, praying for the passage
of an Act requiring all persons in the State of Maryland sell-
ing grain or tobacco on commission, to report under oath the
person or persons to whom such sale or sales are made, and
the time thereof, and also .the price for which such grain or
tobacco has been sold.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on the Ju-
diciary.

Mr. Hopkins presented the following petitions :

The petition of H. B. Morgan and 98 others, asking for
the proper restriction of gunning for wild fowl in the head
waters of the Chesapeake Bay.

Also,

The petition of R. R. Vandiver and 69 others, asking for
the passage of a law for the proper restriction of gunning on
the head waters of the Chesapeake Bay.

Which were severally read and referred to the Select Com-
mittee on that subject.

Mr. Thomas, of Frederick, presented the petition of Joshua
Ahalt, Daniel Young and Ezra Houck, Trustees of the Burk-
etsville Female Seminary, praying an appropriation on the
usual conditions in such cases.

Which was read and referred to the Frederick delegation.

Mr. Mitchell, Chairman of the Committee on the Judici-
ciaiy, to whom had been referied the bill entitled an Act
to repeal the seventh section of Article 28, of the Code of
Public General Laws, relating to the correction of errors in
assessment of property not liable to be assessed, and insert-
ing in said Article in. lieu of the section so repealed, the fol-
