Leave was granted to the Harford delegation to introduce
a bill to provide for the appointment of an additional Jus-
tice of the Peace for election district, No. 4, in. Harford
county.

On motion of Mr. Biddle,

Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
introduce a bill to enable the voters of Chesapeake city, in
Cecil county, to decide upon the issuing of licenses to sell
spirituous liquors in said town.

On motion of Mr. Wootton,

Leave was granted to the Prince George's and Anne Arun-
del delegations to report a bill to repeal chapter 290, of the
Code of Public General Laws of this State, entitled "Public
Roads,'' so far as the same applies to Prince George's and
Anne Arundel counties.

On motion of Mr. Shipley,

Leave was granted to the Baltimore county delegation to
introduce a bill relating to division fences in Baltimore
county.

Mr. Merrick, Chairman of the Committee on Ways and
Means, to whom bad been referred the petition of John S.
Combes and others, asking for relief for placing substitutes
in the army.

Also,

The petition of Jacob B. Masters, Hamilton Downes and
others, on the subject of bounties.

Also,

The petition of Lambert C. Powell, for bounty for his slave
which was enlisted in the United States service,

Reported back the same and asked to be discharged from
the further consideration thereof, and that the same be
referred to the Committee on Militia.

The report was adopted, the Committee discharged, and
the petitions so referred.

On motion of Mr. Mitchell,

The House proceeded to the consideration of the bill enti-
tled an Act to repeal the 7th section of Article 28, of the
Ode of Public General Laws, relating to the correction of
errors in the assessment of property not liable to be assessed,
and inserting in said Article in lieu of the sections so re-
pealed, the following section relating to said subject.

Said bill being upon a third reading,
