Mr. Garey presented the petition of Rebecca Lockerman,
asking for a pension.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pen-
sions.

Mr. Baldwin, of Anne Arundel, presented the petition of
B. S. Nichols and 31 other citizens of Anne Arundel county,
asking the passage of a stay law.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on the Ju-
diciary.

Mr. Veitch presented the petition of the County Commis-
sioners of Montgomery county, for the passage of a law au-
thorizing them to build a new jail, or remove the old one, to
improve the Court House, and for other purposes, and to levy
a tax upon the assessable property of the county to pay for
the same.

Which was lead and referred to the Mongomery delega-
tion.

Mr. Thomas, of Queen Anne's county, presented the peti-
tion of Hiram Dudley, asking to have a certain sum of money
refunded to him.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Claims.

Mr. Cameron presented the petition of Thos. G. Rutledge
and 150 others, asking that the 7th election district of Bal-
timore county, be divided into two election precincts.

Which was read and referred to the Baltimore county
delegation.

Mr. Biddle presented the petition of J. W. Morgan, B. B.
Price and others for a law against swine running at large in
the 1st election district of Cecil county.

Which was read and referred to the Cecil delegation.

Mr Hammond presented the petition of 237 citizens of the
5th, or Bay Hundred district, of Talbot county, praying the
passage of an Act preventing the sale of spirituous liquors
on or within four miles of Tilghman's Island.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on the Ju-
diciary.

Mr. Martin presented the petition of Ellen O'Bryan, and
sundry other citizens of Charles county, praying that the
said Ellen O'Bryan may be placed on the pension list.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pen-
sions.

Mr. Carroll submitted the following order :
