Ordered, That all Committees, whether travelling or other-
wise, that have been appointed, or may be hereafter appointed,
by this House, shall not receive any extra compensation for
their services unless for actual expenses incurred ; amount of
said expenses to be handed in with this report.

Which was adopted.
On motion of Mr. Beck,

Leave was granted to Kent county delegation and Mr. Hard-
castle of Caroline, to introduce a. bill entitled an Act to amend
the Public Local Laws of Kent county, title Cbestertown, by
repealing section 35, and to re-enact the same as amended.

Mr. McLane (the rules being suspended) presented the

Memorial of Frederick Knapp to exempt Library or Insti-
tute and School in Baltimore city from taxation.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Ways
and Means.

Mr. McCreery, Chairman of Select Committee, reported
favorably a bill entitled an Act to authorize the County Com-
missioners of Frederick county to subscribe to the stock of
Turnpike Companies.

Which was read a first time.
Also,

A bill entitled an Act to authorize the Governor to ap-
point an additional Justice of the Peace for the 2nd Election
District of Frederick county.

Which was read a first time.

Mr. Ritter moved that the vote-by which the order sub-
mitted by Mr. Martin on Thursday last, relative to the ap-
pointment of a Committee to visit the State Tobacco Ware-
houses, be reconsidered.

Decided in the negative.

Mr. Brattau (the rules being suspended) presented the
petition of James H. Mister and thirty-six others, of Hol-
land's Island, in Dorchester county, asking for annexation to
Somerset county.

Which, was read and referred to Messrs. Brattan, Lankford
and Woolford.

Mr. Harris (the rules being suspended) presented the peti-
tion of Maria Browning to be platted upon the pension list.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pensions.

Mr. McCreery (the rules being suspended) presented the
petition of Henry Anders, asking for a pension.
