Which was read.

Mr. Kilbourn submitted the following message :

BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES,

February 15th, 1870.
Gentlemen of the Senate :

We have received your message of this date, stating that
in view of the expected arrival, on Thursday next, in the
harbor of Annapolis, of Her Majesty's ship "Monarch,"
and as an evidence of our desire to exhibit that respect for
her officers which is felt throughout the State, and therefore
proposing a Joint Committee of Conference, of two on the
part of the Senate, and three on the part of the House, who
shall take into consideration, and report what action should
be taken by the General Assembly to testify our appreciation
of their distinguished services, aad concur therein.

And have appointed on the part of the House, Messrs.
Kilbourn, Hardcastle, of Talbot, and Webb.

Which was read, assented to, and ient to the Senate.

The Secretary of the Senate returned the following bills
severally endorsed:

"Passed by yeas and nays."

The bill entitled a supplement to the Ace entitled an Act
to create and incorporate the Monocacy and Montgomery
Turnpike Company, chapter 179, passed January session
1865, to repeal sections 2, 3 and 7 thereof, and re-enact tha
same with amendments.

Also,

The bill entitled an Act for the relief of the heirs and de-
visees of George Bayly, late of Baltimore city, deceased.

Also,

The bill entitled an Act to amend an Act passed March 18,
1867, entitled an Act to revive and extend an Act to incor-
porate the Worcester Railroad Company, passed at the Janu-
ary session, 1853, with amendments.

Also,

The bill entitled an Act to amend an Act passed at the
General Assembly of Maryland, in the year 1858, chapter
276, entitled an Act to incorporate the Maryland Mutual
Life and Fire Insurance Company by changing the corporate
name thereof.
