same, and to levy taxes on the assessable property of said
county to redeem said bonds and to pay the interest thereon,
with proposed amendments.
Said bill being upon a second r«ading.
AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

Amend section 1, line 13, by striking out the word "fifty,"
and insert the word sixty.

Section 2, line 6, strike out the word "fifty," and insert
the word sixty, line 7, strike out the words, "at the rate of
six per cent, per year;" line 11, after the word "taxes" add
the words, provided that the said bonds shall be exempt from
county and municipal taxation.

The amendments were severally read and adopted, and the
bill, as amended, read a second time.

Mr. McLane, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported
favorably,

The Senate bill entitled an Act to prevent incompetent
persons from conducting the business of Druggist or Apothe-
cary in the City of Baltimore.

Mr. Standish, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported
favorably,

The bill entitled an Act to incorporate the New York and
George's Creek Coal Company, with proposed amendments.

AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

Section 1, strike out all after the word "factories," in line
19, to the word "minerals" in line 24 inclusive.

Section 2, line 30, strike out the words "Baltimore and
Ohio," and insert the words Cumberland and Pennsylvania.

Mr. Neill, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported fa-
vorably,

A bill entitled an Act to authorize the Burgess and Com-
missioners of the Corporation of Smithsburg, to introduce
into said town any body of water that may be necessary fer
a full supply of said town.

Which was read a first time.

The Secretary of the Senate returned the following bill:

A bill entitled an Act to repeal section 50, Article 5, Pub-
lic General Laws, relating to appeals, and to re-enact the
same with amendments, and to add section to said Article,
with proposed amendments.

Endorsed, "Passed by yeas and nays with proposed amend-
ments."
