On motion of Mr. Purnell,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to-
introduce a bill to repeal an Act passed January session,
1868, chapter 266, as a supplement to the several Acts in-
corporating the Wicomico and Pocomoke Railroad Company,
and to re-enact the same with amendments.
On motion of Mr. Baldwin, of Harford,
Leave was granted to Messrs. Baldwin, of Harford, Mc-
Lane and Hopkins to introduce a bill to extend the provi-
sion of chapter 413, Acts 1868, entitled "Licenses," so as to-
embrace the several counties within this State.
Mr. Merrick, Chairman of the Committee on Ways and
Means, reported favorably,
The Senate bill entitled an Act to direct the Attorney
General of the State of Maryland to be, by proper proceedings,
made a party in a cause now pending in the Circuit Court
of Baltimore city, entitled "The Commonwealth of Vir-
ginia" vs. The Chesapeake and Ohio Canal Company and
others, and to appear for this State in said cause, and in its
behalf to defend the same.
Mr. Morse, Chairman of the Committee on Corporations,
reported favorably the following bills :
A bill entitled an additional supplement to an Act entitled
an Act to incorporate the Roman Catholic Congregation in
Baltimore Town, passed at November session, 1795, chapter
15, to enable the said Corporation to purchase a new burial
ground.

Also,
A bill entitled a supplement to an Act entitled an Act to-
incorporate the Broadway and Locust Point Steam Ferry
Company of Maryland, and to grant on certain conditions,
the right to use the wharf known as the County Wharf,
passed March 28, 1868.

Also,
A bill entitled an Act to confer upon the State of Mary-
land Mutual Fire Insurance Company, of Baltimore city, the
power to declare and make the premium notes of said Com-
pany liens upon the real estate insured by said Company.
