JOINT RESOLUTIONS.

Fish.

2d. Resolved, That the General Assembly is
convinced that by a reasonable effort the fisheries
of this State may be made a vast source of wealth
to our people.

Submit plan.

Resolved, That the committee on "Chesapeake
Bay and its Tributaries" be requested at an early
day to submit to the Legislature some plan by
which this important subject may be practically
developed.

 

No. 3.

Treasurer to
adjust claims.

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the Comptroller of the Treasury be and he is
hereby authorized to settle and adjust the claims
of the State against William G. Burk, late sheriff
of Harford county, and that the said late sheriff be
allowed in such settlement for all claims for fines,
forfeitures, or any other account against insolvent
person or persons from whom the said late sheriff
failed to collect the money by reason of the inabil-
ity of the parties to pay, or because of their ab-
sconding from the State, and that the Comptroller
may take oral as well as written proof in the ad-
justment of said claims, and that the State's Attor-
ney of Harford county shall stay all legal proceed-
ings that may have been commenced by him against
said late sheriff, until instructed by the Comp-
troller how to proceed in said case.

Be it further resolved, That this resolution shall
go into effect from the date of its passage.

No. 4.

Resolution authorizing. and directing the State
Librarian to subscribe for two hundred and fifty
copies of Cohen and Campbell's Digest of the De-
cisions of the Court of Appeals.
