Bridge to be
free.

Sec. 12. And be it enacted, That the free use of
said new bridge shall belong and enure to the
public, to pass over same as fully and amply as
they now use and enjoy the present bridge or
causeway, and the same shall be kept in good
order and repair by the said Company.

Keep account
of all moneys

Sec. 13. And be it enacted, That the said Presi-
dent and Directors shall keep a just and true ac-
count of all monies received and collected by their
several agents and collectors of owners and agents
of steamboats, vessels, and craft in passing through
said draw and in sailing upon and using the waters
of said channel vested as aforesaid in the Company,
and also from the hiring, renting, and using of
the granaries, wharves and landings aforesaid,
and from any and every other source whatsoever,
and after deducting therefrom all contingent shares
and expenses, and such sum as may be required in
keeping in good order and repair said bridge,
draw, granaries, wharves, landings and roads,

shall make and declare on the first Wednesday in
January of every year a dividend of said net in-
come and profits among the stockholders, and shall
publish the dividend when so made and the time
when the same shall be paid and shall cause the
same to be paid accordingly.

Pay damages
for injuring.

Sec. 14. And be it enacted, That if any person or
persons shall injure the said bridge, draw, chan-
nel, roads, granaries, wharves and landings, or
any of the works connected therewith, he, she or
they shall forfeit and pay the damages sustained
therein to be recovered by said Company with cost
before any Court of justice or any Justice of the
Peace having cognizance thereof.

Repealed.

Sec. 15. And be it enacted. That an Act passed
January twenty-first, eighteen hundred and twenty,
entitled an Act to erect a bridge over the Narrows
of Kent Island, in Queen Anne's County, and the
supplements thereto, so far as the same may be ne-
cessary to carry into effect the provisions of this law
be and the same are hereby repealed.

Sec. 16. And be it enacted, That in case the Pre-
sident and Directors of said Company shall deter-
mine it most advantageous in carrying into effect
the purposes and design of this Act, not to follow
