not reside in the town, the tenant or person occu-
pying such house, lot or part of lot shall cause the
same to be done, and the money so expended, un-
der the direction of the corporation, shall be al-
lowed by the owners and deducted from the rent
then due or to become due, and if the tenant or
person occupying such lot shall refuse or neglect
to level, pave or mend the same, agreeable to the
ordinance of the corporation, the same may be

Sec. 17. And be it enacted, That all violations
of the ordinances for the peace and good order of
said town shall be punished by a fine not exceed-
ing twenty dollars, to be imposed by the Burgess
or by any Justice of the Peace for Washington
County, said fine to be collected according to the
provisions of Article forty, Code of Public General
Laws.

AN ACT to amend the Charter of the Town of
Westernport, in Allegany County, passed at
January Session, eighteen hundred and sixty-
eight, Chapter forty.
|

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That Section nine of Chapter forty
of the Act passed at January Session, eighteen
hundred and sixty-eight, entitled An Act to In-
corporate the Town of Westernport, Allegany
County, Maryland, be and the same is hereby re-
pealed and re-enacted so as to read as follows:

Sec. 9. And be it enacted, That the limits of
said town shall extend as follows : Beginning at
the mouth of the sewer of the upper round house
of Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Company's shops,
and running north twenty-five degrees, west four
hundred feet to the county road, then north twen-
ty-one and a-half degrees, east five thousand two
