bridge, for manufacturing, oyster packing and other pur-
poses.

On motion of Mr. Harrington,

Ordered, That it be entered on the Journal of this House,
that George J. Meekins is detained from his seat by reason
of important business.

On motion of Mr. Neill,

Leave was granted to the Washington delegation to intro-
duce a bill to authorize the Mayor and Council of Hagers-
town to levy a tax upon dogs in said town of Hagerstown.

Also,

Leave was granted to the Washington delegation to intro-
duce a bill to repeal sections 296 and 312, of Article 21, of
the Public Local Laws of Washington county, and to re-
enact the same with amendments and a sub-section.

Also,

Leave was granted to the Washington delegation to intro-
duce a bill to authorize the Burgess and Commissioners of
Smithsburg, Washington county, to introduce into said town
any body of water which may be necessary for a full supply
of said town.

Also,

Leave was granted to the Washington delegation to in-
troduce a bill to authorize the Mayor and Council of Hagers-
town, to aid and assist the Fire department of Hagerstown.

Also,

Leave was granted to the Washington delegation to intro-
duce a bill to repeal chapter 258, of the Acts of 1867, and to
re-enact the same as amended.

On motion of Mr. McLane,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
introduce a bill to incorporate the Baltimore Land Improve-
ment, Loan and Deposite Company.

On motion of Mr. Turner,

Leave was granted to the Baltimore county delegation to
introduce a bill to authorize the Commissioners of Baltimore
county to erect a bridge over Jones' Falls, at Woodberry in
Baltimore county.

The Secretary of the Senate returned the following House
bill,
