session, 1860, entitled an Act to incorporate the Carrollton
Avenue Company.

Endorsed, "Passed by yeas and nays."
Also,

The bill entitled a supplement to an Act entitled an Act
to incorporate the People's Gas Company of Baltimore city.

Endorsed, "Passed^ by yeas and nays with proposed
amendment."

AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Amend title of bill as follows : A supplement and amend-
ment to an Act entitled an Act to incorporate the People's
Gas Company of Baltimore city, passed at January session,
1860, chapter 291, re-affirming said Act and authorizing said
Company to receive real estate, stock, bonds, and other pro-
perty in payment for subscriptions to the Capital Stock, and
to make a payment for material and labor in the Capital
Stock, creating the office of Vice President and providing for
his election, decreasing the number of Directors in said Com-
pany to five, and amending the second section of said Act so
that the capital may be increased "by" any amount not ex-
ceeding two millions of dollars, in place of "for any amount
not exceeding said sum."

The amendment was read, and on motion of Mr. McLaue,
the further consideration thereof was postponed, and the bill,
with proposed amendment, made the order of the day for
Tuesday, 15th inst.

Also, delivered the following message :

BY THE SENATE,
February 9, 1870.

Gentlemen of the House of Delegates ;

We have received your message proposing the appoint-
ment of a Joint Committee of Conference upon the bill to
''change the name of the Mutual Coal Company of Alle-
gany county, to that of the Maryland Coal Company, and to
confirm the decree of the Circuit Court for Allegany county,
changing said name," and concur therein.

We have appointed on the part of the Senate, as members
of said Committee, Senators Spates, Henry and Welch.
