Ordered, That Thos. H. Hamilton, of Baltimore city, be-
granted one day's leave of absence on account of important
business.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Collins submitted the following order :

Ordered, That Messrs. Marshall, Gardner and Ehlen be-
excused on account of business, and that it be placed on the-
Journal.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Jordan submitted the following order :

Ordered, That it be entered on the Journal that Win. H.
Crouse has been absent from his place in this House, the last
two days, on account of sickness in his family, and that he
be excused from attendance until Tuesday next.

Which was adopted.
Also,

Ordered, That George A. Shower have leave of absence-
for this day and Monday next, to visit his family on account
of sickness.

Which was adopted.

On motion of Mr. Brattan,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings to introduce a bill to facilitate the collection of State and
County Taxes in this State.

On motion of Mr. Shipley,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Ways and Means
to introduce a bill to provide for the incorporation of the-
Towsontown Institute, in Baltimore county, and endow the
same.

On motion of Mr. Crawford,

Leave w,i-» granted to the Wicomico delegation, and Mr.
Brattan, to introduce a bill to regulate the pay of witnesses
to the Circuit Court of Wicomico county.

On motion of Mr. Marbury,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to re-
port a bill entitled an Act to incorporate the District of
Columbia, Upper Marlboro' and Hill's Landing Turnpike
Company.

On motion of Mr. Kilbourn,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings to introduce a bill to allow the Light Street Bridge Comi-
