Mr. Gatch presented the petition of C. P. Herman and 20
other reliable citizens of Baltimore county, praying the pas-
sage of a ten hour law for operators in Cotton Factories in
said county.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Manufac-
tures.

Mr. Murdock presented the petition of Daniel Lion, Jacob
Myers, Frisby Doub, Abraham Hammon, George Gilbert
and 10 others of Washington county, praying for relief for
placing substitutes in the army.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Claims.

Mr. Cameron presented the petition of James Jones and
others of Baltimore county, remonstrating against the pas-
sage of any law preventing stock from running at large in
said county.

Which was read and referred to the Baltimore county dele-
gation .

Mr. Bowlus presented the petition of Thomas Johnson,
James T. Yates and 52 other citizens of Frederick county,
praying the passage of a law prohibiting fishing with nets,
seines, &c., in the waters of the Catoctin creek.

Which was read and referred to the Frederick delegation.
Mr. Bowlus submitted the following order:

Ordered, That it be entered on the Journal that Mr. Mc-
Creery was absent from his seat on Tuesday and Wednesday
on account of sickness.

Which was adopted.

On motion of Mr. Kilbourn,

Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
introduce a bill to amend Article 61, "Mechanic's Lien" sec-
tion 19.

On motion of Mr. Wiley,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Inspections to in-
troduce a bill to regulate the inspections of refined Petroleum,
Kerosene, and burning oils and burning fluids, in the City
of Baltimore and Baltimore county.

Ou motion of Mr. Neill,

Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
introduce a bill entitled an Act to amend Article 46 of the
Code of Public General Laws, entitled "Inebriates" by add-
ing thereto certain additional sections.

On'motion of Mr. Owens,
