Mr. McCreery presented the memorial of 300 ladies of
Frederick city, asking for aid to the Memorial Association of
that city.

Which was read and referred to the Select Committee on
Confederate Dead of Antietam and Gettysburg Cemeteries.

Mr. Hammond presented the petition of citizens of Talbot
county, asking for an increase of the number of Commisioners
for said county.

Which was read and referred to Messrs. Hammond, Hard-
castle, of Talbot, and Brown.

Mr. Hammond presented the petition of citizens of Talbot
county, praying the passageof an Act to open Kent Narrows,
in Queen Anne's county, to navigation.

Which was read and referred to Messrs. Hammond, Hard-
castle, of Talbot, and Beck

Mr. Purnell presented a petition from citizens of Sandy
Hill District, in Worcester county, remonstrating against the
taking away of any terri(ory from said district.

Which was read and referred to Messrs. Purnell, Dennis
and Brattan.

Mr. Hamilton presented a petition from Geo. W. Ellen -
der, Jas. H. King and 104 other citizens, asking the passage
of a law to prohibit the manufacture of oyster and fruit cans
in the Penitentiary.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Manu-
factures

Mr. Gardner presented the petition of I. Alien, I.
Reader and 107 others, asking for the passage of a law to-
prohibit the manufactory of fruit and oyster cans in the
Penitentiary.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Manu-
factories.

Mr. Shipley presented the petition of Wm. M. Isaacs and
others, asking for an appropriation for the Towsontown In-
stitute.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Ways-
and Means.

Mr. Biddle presented the petition of Hon. J. W. Morgan
and others, asking a law to pi-event the splashing or whip-
ping of fish into gill-nets.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on the
Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries.
