hundred and seventy, .that is to say, to Thos.
Baldwin, eighty-eight dollars and seventy-five
cents; to Robert Bowie, thirty-eight dollars and
fifty cents; to John Magruder, seventy dollars; to
John H. Scott, forty-four dollars; to William
Hoxton, twenty-nine dollars and twenty-five cents;
to Thomas D. Owens, ninety-two dollars and fifty
cents; to A. Knight, one hundred and two dollars
and fifty cents; to Richard B. Magruder, one hun-
dred and twenty-eight dollars and twenty-two
cents; to George Maniner, sixty dollars; to C. C.
Hall, seven dollars and twenty-five cents; to W.
W. Berch, ninety-four dollars; to Jeremiah Ken-
ney, seventy-two dollars; to J. G. Magruder, sixty-
six dollars and twenty-five cents; to Robert Bowie
of W., fifty-three dollars; to William Snowden,
forty-six dollars and twenty-five cents; to W. H.
Sindall, one hundred and five dollars and fifty
cents; to H. Crawford, twenty-four dollars and
sixty-five cents; to W. J. Carmack, one hundred
and seventeen dollars and fifty cents; H. B. Bowie,
fifty-nine dollars, and to Thomas Tucker, one hun-
dred and five dollars for which several sums said
employees hold certificates, given by said J. B.
Magruder, late Inspector, certifying that said per-
sons are entitled to receive the same from the State
Maryland, which also appears in the reportof said
Inspector to the Comptroller and it is right there-
fore that said sums should be paid therefor.

Indebtedness.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the present Inspector of To-
bacco Warehouse No. 1 be and he is hereby author-
ized and directed, out of any surplus in his hands
arising from receipts from "Outage" and "Storage"
on tobacco, or from any other sources, to pay to
the several persons named in the preamble of this
Act, or to their properly authorized representatives
the several and respective sums therein mentioned;
provided, however, that said payments shall only
be made upon the presentation and delivery to
the said Inspector of certificates from the said
J. B. Magruder, late Inspector, showing that said
amounts are those respectively due and unpaid to
said employees for services rendered in said ware-
house, and that said sum of sixty-three dollars and
