forty-five cents is due to himself for unpaid bills in
said warehouse, which certificates shall be verified
by the affidavit of said J. B. Magruder.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That if in the
interval between the passage of this Act and the
quarter ending June the thirtieth, eighteen hun-
dred and seventy, the surplus coming to the hands
of said Inspector of Warehouse, No. 1, shall not be
sufficient to enable him to pay all of the amounts
due to the said employees mentioned in the first sec-
tion of this Act and said sixty-three dollars and
forty-five cents to said J. B. Magruder, as pro-
vided for in said first section, then the Comptrol-

ler of the Treasury is hereby authorized and
directed after June the thirtieth, eighteen hundred
and seventy, to pay such of said claims as shall not
have been paid by said Inspector of said warehouse
out of any surplus in the treasury to the credit of
the tobacco fund, which payment shall be made to
the said employees or to their properly authorized
representatives upon the presentation to the Comp-
troller of proper certificates from the said J. B.
Magruder, late Inspector, showing the amounts
respectively due and unpaid to said employees,
which certificates shall be verified by the affidavit
of said Magruder.

In force.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

of Maryland, That Humphrey Humphreys, Pur-
nell Toadvine, Lemuel Showell, Thomas W. H.
White, Jacob Tome, Samuel A. Graham, Thomas
Humphreys, Elisha E. Jackson, H. E. Pitts, Wil-
liam Laws, George Richardson, James U. Dennis,
William H. Roach, Isaac Anderson, George Riall,
