tion shall have been filed within the time herein
granted, or if objection shall have been filed and
the road petitioned for confirmed, the County Com-
missioners shall record such road as a public road
of Baltimore County, and the award, if for dam-
ages, shall be paid by the County Commissioners
to the person or persons entitled to receive the
same within ninety days from the recording of

said road; and the awards, if for benefits, shall
be considered a tax upon the property assessed,
and shall be paid to the County Commissioners
within sixty days from the recording of said road,
and shall be applied to the purpose of paying the
damages and construction of said road; and when-
ever there shall not be sufficient money in the
hands of the County Commissioners, assessed and
collected for the payment of damages and the cost
of construction of any road under this Act, the
County Commissioners are hereby directed to pay
such deficiency out of the special road and bridge
fund of the district or districts so assessed; and if

more than one district is assessed, the deficiency
shall be paid out of the special funds of such
districts in proportion to the amount of the
asessment of such districts. Whenever any per-
son or persons shall desire to improve any
road to an extent beyond that contemplated
by the Board of Supervisors, they may make
application to the County Commissioners, who
shall direct the Board of the Supervisors of
the district in which such road is situated, to meet
upon the premises and examine the location and
the purposes set forth in said application, and if
they shall judge, that the public interest will he
promoted thereby, they shall direct the County
Cominissioners to pay towards such improvement

per mile, to be paid upon completion of said im-
provement;provided, the parties desiring to make
said improvement, shall first subscribe an amount
double that to be paid by the County Commission-
ers," all the work of said improvement shall be
under the direction and control of the Supervisors.
Whenever any doubt may exist as to the proper
location or width of any road, the Supervisors may
cause the same to be surveyed, and in their discre-
tion, make such alterations as the convenience of
