puting from the first day of January, eighteen
hundred and seventy, or until their successors aro
appointed, and they shall make like appointments
at their first meeting in January of every second
year thereafter.

 

Sec. 4. And be it enacted, That the Supervisors
thus appointed in each district shall constitute a
Board, one of whom shall be designated by the
County Commissioners as chairman of said Board,
and the chairman of each Board shall give bond
to the County Commissioners in the sum of five
hundred dollars for the faithful discharge of the
duties of his office.

Sec. f>. And be it enacted, That he shall keep a
record of all work and other transactions pertain-
ing to the roads in his district, and shall furnish
to the County Commissioners on the first Tuesday
of each month a statement of the amount of labor
performed or materials furnished, the cost of the
same, and to whom due, and said statement shall
embrace as near as possible the entire expenses of
his district for the month just ended.

Sec. 6. And be it enacted, That all Supervisors
shall be subject to removal by the County Com-
missioners for neglect or refusal to comply with
the duties of their office, provided they shall be
notified of the charge against them in writing by
the County Commissioners, and summoned to ap-

be removed, his place shall be filled by the County
Commissioners

Sec. 7. And be it enacted, That tho County
Commissioners shall keep a book of record for each
district, in which shall be recorded all the roads
and bridges of that district, and all surveys and
other proceedings which may be had in reference
to any road or bridge in that district, and they are
hereby authorized to provide such books as may
be necessary to carry out the provisions of this
law, and pay the cost thereof out of the general
fund hereinafter provided.
