sion, eighteen hundred and sixty-eight, chapter
three hundred and fifty-three, entitled, An Act to
authorize the Commissioners of Howard county to
subscribe to the capital stock of Turnpike Roads
in said county, he and the same is hereby con-
firmed and approved.

In force.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

Approved April 4, 1870.

 

CHAPTER 260.

 

AN ACT to incorporate the Town of Laurel, in
Prince George's County.

Body corpo-
rate.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the citizens of the Town of
Laurel, in Prince George's County, are hereby
constituted a body corporate by the name of the
Commissioners of Laurel, and by that name may
have perpetual succession, sue and be sued, and
have and use a common seal.

Boundary line

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the limits of
said Town shall begin at a point on the Patuxent
river, a quarter of a mile below the railroad,
thence with said river to Walker's branch, thence
southerly along Walker's branch to Talbot run or
Crow's branch, thence southeasterly with said
Talbot run or Crow's branch to a point on said
run one quarter of a mile beyond and across the
Washington Branch of the Baltimore and Ohio
Railroad, thence northerly in a straight line to the
place of beginning.

May extend
by legal voters

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That said Board of
Commissioners are hereby empowered, whenever
requested by a majority of the legal voters within
the limits of the proposed extension, to extend
and enlarge the limits of said corporation by
having the contemplated extension surveyed and
the bounds thereof established, a copy of which
survey shall be recorded among the records of said
corporation.
