CHAPTER 253.
AN ACT to authorize the appointment of two
additional Justices of the Peace for Dorchester
county.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That in addition to the two Justices
of the Peace in the first election district of Dor-

chester county, as now provided for by law, there
shall be an additional Justice of the Peace ap-
dointed for said district in Dorchester county, and
also an additional Justice of the Peace in the fifth
election district of said county, and the Governor
is hereby authorized to appoint and commission
two additional Justices of the Peace for said dis
tricts.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

AN ACT to Appropriate the sums of money there-
in mentioned to pay the Claims of John Mur-
phy & Co., heirs at law of A. M. Payne, as-
signee of Seth M. Whaley, Thomas E. Dell,
Thomas Terry, C. A. S. Wolf, James S. Frank-
lin, S. Jackson & Co., James Hopkins, Samuel
Stewart, Owen Disney, Jesse Harden, James E.
Tate and Cushing and Mediary.

Section. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Treasurer, upon the war-
rant of the Comptroller, who is hereby authorized
and directed to issue the same, be and he is hereby
authorized and directed to pay to John Murphy &
Co., seven thousand five hundred and four dollars
and seventy-six cents for stationery and books fur-
nished the State Library for the General Assembly
