CHAPTER 197.
AN ACT to add an additional Section to the Pub-
lic Local Laws of Wicomico County, to be en-
titled " Witnesses."
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That each witness summoned to
attend the Circuit Court for Wicomico County

shall be entitled to receive for each day he shall
attend, the sum of seventy-five cents and an al-
lowance of four cents per mile for every mile his
place of residence shall be distant from the place
of holding the Court, to be computed for each
days's attendance.
Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 198.

AN ACT to authorize the Cumberland Coal and
Iron Company to distribute certain of its assets
among its stockholders, and to reduce its capital.
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That it shall be lawful for the Cum-
berland Coal and Iron Company to distribute rate-
ably among its stockholders fifty thousand shares
of the capital stock of the Consolidation Coal Com-
pany of Maryland, acquired by the Cumberland
Coal and Iron Company, pursuant to the provi-
sions of the Act of the General Assembly of Mary-
land of eighteen hundred and sixty, Chapter two
hundred and sixty-five.
