A bill entitled an Act to facilitate the examination of titles
to lands in Prince George's county.

Which was read a first time and referred to the Prince
George's delegation.

Also,

A bill entitled an Act to prevent incompetent persons from
conducting the business of Druggist or Apothecary in the
City of Baltimore.

Which was read a first time and referred to Messrs. Mc-
Lane, Webb and Hoblitzell.

On motion of Mr. Merrick, (the rules being suspended,)

The vote by which the petitions praying the passage of a
law to preclude incompetent persons from engaging in the
Apothecary business were ordered to be referred to the Com-
mittee on Ways and Means,

Was reconsidered.

The question then recurring upon the reference of the
same,

On motion of Mr. Merrick, ,

Said petitions were then referred to the Select Committee
appointed on that subject.

The Secretary of the Senate delivered the following bill:

A bill entitled an Act to direct the Attorney General of
this State to cause the State of Maryland to be, by proper
proceedings, made a party in a cause now pending in the Cir-
cuit Court of Baltimore city, entitled the Commonwealth of
Virginia versus the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal Company
and others, and to appear for this State in said cause, and
on its behalf to defend the same.

Which was read a first time and referred to the Committee
on Ways and Means.

The bill entitled an Act for the better protection of birds in
Allegany county,

Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

The bill entitled an Act to authorize the Commissioners of
Baltimore county to appoint an additional Constable for dis-
trict No. 5, in said county,

Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

The bill entitled an Act to extend the powers of the Reg-
ister of Wills of Worcester c6unty,
