Mr. Choate presented the petition of Lewis R. Coles and
others, praying for a pension.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pen-
sions.

Mr. Martin presented the petition of Edward Jacobs and
sundry Commission Merchants for the sale of Tobacco and
other produce in the City of Baltimore, in favor of erecting
a pier at No. 3 Tobacco Warehouse, in the City of Balti-
more.

Which was read and referred to the Select Committee on
State Tobacco Warehouses.

Mr. Bowlus presented the petition of John T. Smith
and Lewis E. Flook, praying the passage of an Act to in-
corporate the Mount Olive Church of United Brethren in
Christ, in Frederick county.

Which was read and referred to the Frederick delega-
tion.

Mr. Ehlen presented the petition of Thomas Rensett and
1,300 others, asking the passage of a law prohibiting the
manufacture of Tin Cans for Oysters and Fruit, by the con-
victs in the Maryland State Penitentiary.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Manu-
factures.

Mr. Sanner presented the petition of Chas. A. Wilson and
760 citizens of Baltimore city, asking for the passage of a law
prohibiting the manufacture of tin cans for oysters and fruit,
by convicts in the Maryland Penitentiary.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Manu-
factures.

Mr. Duvall presented the petition of Samuel Whitehead,
Philemon Jones, Miriam Bengee, widow of Elijah Bengee,
Catherine Miller, widow of John Miller, and Nancy Phelps,
widow of Win. Phelps, soldiers of the war of 1812, asking
for a pension.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pensions.

Mr. Percy presented the petition of John T. Combs and
others, praying for relief for placing substitutes in the army.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Ways
and Means.

Mr. Murdock presented the petition of Elizabeth Nicklison,
widow of Francis Nicklison. a soldier of the war of 1812, ask-
ing to be placed on the pension list.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pen-
