ing to be placed on the pension list, in common with others.

Which were severally read and referred to the Committee
on Pensions.

Also,

The petition of 75 citizens of Baltimore city, asking the
prohibition of the manufacturing of Fruit Cans in the Mary-
land Penitentiary.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Manu-
factures.

Mr. Neill presented the following petitions :

The petition of Elizabeth Campbell, asking for a pension.

Also,

The petition of Catharine Fockler and Thomas B. Clark,
asking for a pension.

Which were severally read and referred to the Committee
on Pensions.

Mr. Beck presented the petition of A. J. Rcese and 35 citi-
zens of Kent county, praying that Magistrates may have
jurisdiction in assault and battery cases.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on the Ju-
diciary.

Mr. Ritter presented the petition of John Need, for servi-
ces rendered the State.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on the Ju-
diciary.

Mr. Gordy presented the petition of George W. Robertson,
Grason Elliott, and 181 other citizens in Tyaskin district,
in Wicomico county, asking for a prohibitory liquor law in
said district.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on the Ju-
diciary.

Mr. Jordan presented a petition from Wm. T. Brown
and 42 other citizens of Carroll county, in regard to the
present pension law.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pen-
sions.

Mr. Purnell presented the petition of Lambert C. Powell,
for bounty for his slave which was enlisted in the United
States service.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Ways
and Means.
