Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

The bill entitled an Act for the protection of fish in the
tributaries of the Potomac river lying in St. Mary's county,
and to regulate the time and manner of catching and taking
fish in that portion of the Potomac river, between Cobb
Point, in Charles county and Point Lookout, in St. Mary's
county,

Being upon a second reading,

The question recurring upon the amendments submitted
by the Committee reporting the same, said amendments en-
tered on page 269 of the Journal,

The amendments were adopted,

And the bill as amended, read a second time, and

On motion of Mr. Merrick,

Referred to the Committee on the Judiciary.

The bill entitled an Act to regulate and make uniform the
fees of the Justices of the Peace,

Being upon a second reading,

Mr. Kilbourn submitted the following 'amendment:

Strike out all after the word "cents," in section 17, line 22.

Which was rejected.

Mr. Neill submitted the following amendment:

Section 3. Strike out all after the word "passage," in the
second line.

Which was adopted.

The bill as amended was then read a second time and order-
ed to be engrossed for a third reading.

The bill entitled an Act to incorporate Towsontown, in
Baltimore county,

Being upon a second reading,
On motion of Mr. Turner,

The further consideration thereof was postponed, and the
the bill made the order of the day for Friday next, 11th inst.

The bill entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of money for
the purchase of a lot of ground in which to later the remains
of the Confederate Soldiers who died at Point Lookout in St.
Mary's county, whilst prisoners of war during 'the late civil
strife, and enclose and ornament the same,
