2. And be it enacted, That for the better gov-
ernment of the said corporation, the following
shall be the charter privileges accorded to the
Company hereby incorporated, and this Act shall
go into full effect as soon as the sum of ten thous-
and dollars shall be subscribed to its capital stock,

and this corporation is hereby authorized and em-
powered, whenever the president of said Company
hereby created shall inform the Commissioners of
Frederick and Montgomery Counties that one thous-
and shares of stock has been subscribed, and ten
thousand dollars thus secured, to take full posses-
sion of the road known as the Frederick and
Georgetown road, from the Monocacy river on its
north and and west side, as far as Nealsville, on
said road, and from Nealsville said Company shall
have the right to construct said road to Rockville,
Montgomery County, or to connect with the Wash-

ington and Brookville Union Turnpike or Plank
Road Company, or if thought judicious to con-
struct both of said roads and hold them as their
own, and use them as hereinafter specified, and
they are granted the privilege and are hereby em-
powered to connect their road or roads with the
roads already made from the points herein named
to Frederick and Washington, respectively, and
the Commissioners of the Counties herein named
shall, without delay, upon the receipt of the notice
above mentioned from the president of this Com-
pany, relinquish all control of the roads herein
named, and shall transfer to this Company all the
roads and their appurtenances to the President and
Directors of the Monocacy and Montgomery Turn-
pike Company.

Elect officers.

3. And be it enacted, That it shall, as soon as
the sum of ten thousand dollars are subscribed to
its capital stock, (and bi-ennially thereafter this
first election,) proceed to organize itself by elect-
ing officers for the management of its affairs, and
shall select a suitable place as an office for the use
of said Company, where its business shall be trans-
acted.

7. And be it enacted, That the said Company
having perfected three consecutive miles of the said
road or roads aforesaid, may put up a gate, and
