CHAPTER 21.
AN ACT to appropriate a sum of money to fur-
nish the Governor's Mansion, and appoint a
Committee to superintend and control the dis-
bursement of the same, and the purchase of the
furniture ;

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the sum of twenty-five thous-
and dollars, or so much thereof as may be neces-
sary, be and the same is hereby appropriated to
pay for the furniture necessary to furnish the Gov-
ernor's Mansion,
Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That Wm. B. Stephen-
son, E. J. Henkle, Daniel M. Henry, John R.
Blake, A. G. Chapman and Fendall Marbury be,
and they are hereby appointed a Committee, with
power to superintend and control the disbursement
of the said sum of twenty-five thousand dollars,
appropriated in the first Section of this Act, for

the purposes therein named; also to control the
selection and purchase of the furniture necessary
for said Mansion, and the Comptroller is hereby
authorized and directed to draw his warrants upon
the Treasurer, payable to the order of said Com-
mittee, or a majority of them, for such sums and
at such times as shall be required by said Commit-
tee, or a majority of them, for the purchase of such
furniture as they, in their judgment, may deem
necessary and proper to furnish said Mansion in a
comfortable and convenient manner, but said sums
not to exceed, in the aggregate, the sum of twenty-
five thousand dollars.

Sec. 3 Be it enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.
