On motion by Mr. Sellman,

The Senate advised and. consented to the aforegoing ap-
pointment, agreeably to the nomination.

TUESDAY, March 29,1870.

The following communications which had been received
from his Excellency Governor Bowie, by the hands of R. C.
Hollyday, Esq., Secretary of State, were read:

STATE OF MARYLAND,
EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENT,

Annapolis, March 12,1870.
Gentlemen, of the Senate of Maryland:

I desire to withdraw from nomination the name of George
Scholssnagle as Justice of the Peace in the 11th district of
Allegany county, and nominate William Hinebaugh in his
stead for that position.

ODEN BOWIE.
On motion by Mr. Spates,

The Senate advised and consented to the aforegoing ap-
pointment, agreeably to the nomination.

STATE OF MARYLAND,

Annapolis, March 25,1870.

I nominate John C. Tolson as Justice of the Peace 4th
