On motion by Mr. Earle,

The Senate advised and consented to the aforegoing ap-
pointment, agreeably to the nomination.

EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENT,

Annapolis, March 25,1870.
Gentlemen of the Senate of Maryland:

I nominate George E. Sangston Notary Public for Balti-
more city, vice Thomas St. G. Pratt, declined appointment.

On motion by Mr. Clarke,
The aforegoing appointment was ordered to lie over.

STATE OF MARYLAND,

EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENT,
Annapolis, March 15,1870.

Gentlemen of the Senate of Maryland;

I nominate William Waller as Justice of the Peace for
9th district of Wicomico county, vice Handy J. Fowler, de-
cined appointment.

On motion by Mr. Malone,

The Senate advised and consented to the aforegoing ap-
pointment, agreeably to the nomination.

On motion by Mr. Spates,

The Senate took up for consideration the nominations for
Allegany county.

And on his motion,

The Senate advised and consented to said nominations (ex-
cept the nominations of Gabriel Friend, Owen Riorden, John
B. Widener, Daniel Crabtree, John D. Moriarty and Henry
McKeon as Justices of the Peace for the 2d, 4th, 6th, 7th.
and 13th districts, to which the Senate refused to advise and
consent.)
On motion by Mr. Clarke,

The Senate resumed the consideration of legislative busi-
ness.
