Annapolis, January 19,1870.

Gentlemen of the Senate of Maryland:

I herewith transmit to you the Executive appointments.
made by my predecessor in office during the recess of the
Senate, for Allegany county.

May 11, 1868.—John C. Weis, Justice of the Peace, vice

self, failed to qualify, 5th district.

June 8, 1868.—William F. Garlitz, Justice of the Peace,
3rd district, vice M. A. R. F. Carr, who
failed to qualify.

On motion by Mr. Spates,

The Senate advised and consented to the aforegoing ap-
pointments, agreeably to the nominations.
