Said bill was then returned to the House of Delegates.

The Clerk of the House of Delegates delivered the follow-
ing message:

BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES,

April 4,1870.
Gentlemen of the Senate :

We propose, with your concurrence, the appointment of a
Joint Committee, to consist of two members of the Senate
and three members of the House of Delegates, to wait upon
his Excellency, the Governor, and inform him that the Gene-
ral Assembly propose to adjourn at 12 o'clock midnight, and
inquire of him whether he has any further communication to
make to them.

We have appointed on the part of the House, Messrs.
Chapman, McLane and Gorman.

Chief Clerk.
Which was read.

Mr. Kimmel submitted the following message :

BY THE SENATE,

April 4,1870.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates :

We have received your message proposing the appointment
of a Joint Committee, to consist of two members of the Sen-
ate and three members of the House of Delegates, to wait
upon his Excellency, the Governor, and inform him that the
General Assembly are ready to adjourn, and inquire of him
whether he has any further communication to make to them,
and concur therein.

We have appointed on the part of the Senate, Messrs.
Kimmel and Henry.
By order,
A. GASSAWAY,
Secretary.

Which was read, assented to, and sent to the House of
Delegates.

Mr. Jump, from the Select Committee, to whom was re-
ferred House bill entitled an Act to repeal chapter 329, of the
Acts of 1868, entitled "Public Roads," in Talbot and Caro-
line counties, reported it without amendment.
