officers of the Senate and House of Delegates, and repealing
Acts inconsistent therewith.

Which was read the first time and referred to Senators
Fields, Miller and Carroll.

Abill entitled an Act to confirm an Act passed by the
General Assembly of Virginia, entitled an Act to incorporate
the Shenandoah Valley Railroad Company, passed February
23, 1867; also, to confirm an Act passed by the Legislature
of West Virginia, entitled an Act to authorize the Shenan-
doah Valley Railroad Company to construct their road
through the State of West Virginia to the Potomac river,
passed February 25, 1870, and to authorize the said Company
to extend their road across the Potomac river and to Hagers-
town, in "Washington county, in this State.

Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on Corporations.

A bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Union Mining
and Iron Manufacturing Company of Frederick county.

Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on Corporations.

A bill entitled an Act to incorporate and make a turnpike
road from the Hagerstown and Waynesboro' Turnpike at or
near Leitersburg, to intersect the Smithsburg and Hagers-
town 'Turnpike at or near Daniel Spessard's barn on said
road, as now laid out in Washington county.

Which was read the first time and referred to the Com-
mittee on Corporations.

A bill entitled an Act to repeal section 483, of Article 4,
of the Code of Public Local Laws of the City of Baltimore,
sub-title "Lumber."

Which was read the first time and referred to the Senators
from Baltimore city.

A bill entitled an Act to regulate fences in Carroll county.

Which was read the first time and referred to the Senators
from Carroll, Prince George's and the third legislative district
of Baltimore city.

A bill entitled an Act to repeal section I, of Article 67, of
the Code of Public General Laws, entitled "' Notaries Pub-
lic," and re-enact the same with amendments, so as to pro-
vide an additional Notary Public for the City of Baltimore
thoroughly conversant with the German language.
