from Baltimore city.

A bill entitled an Act to repeal section 2, of chapter 434,
of 1868, entitled an Act to grant donations to Wicomico
county for the use of Academies and Schools, and to re-enact

the same with amendments.

 
Which was read the first time and referred to the Senators
from Wicomico, Caroline and Somerset counties.

A bill entitled an Act to repeal an Act passed at the Janu-
ary session 1868, chap. 407, entitled "Public Education,"
providing a general system, of Free public Schools, and to
re-enact the same with amendments.

Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on Education.

A bill entitled an Act to amend the 3rd section of the 75th
Article of the Code of Public General Laws, relating to
Pleadings, Practice and Process.

Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on Judicial Proceedings.

Abill entitled an Act to fix the mode of electing the Presi-
dent and Directors of the Hagerstown Gas Light Company,
a Company organized under the general Corporation law of
1852.

Which was read the first time and referred to the Senators
from Washington and Harford counties and First Legislative
district of Baltimore city.

A bill entitled an Act to protect the Craighill Channel at
the mouth of the Patapsco river.

Which was read the first time and referred to the Senators
from Baltimore city.

A bill entitled an Act to authorize and empower the
County Commissioners of Montgomery county to add addi-
tional buildings to the Almshouse of said county, and to levy
a tax upon the assessable property to pay the same.

A bill entitled an Act to repeal sections 164, 165, 167 and
169, of chapter 87, of 1868, entitled an Act to add additional
sections to Article 11, of the Code of Public Local Laws, of
Frederick county, relating to the powers of the Mayor, Alder-
men, &c., of Frederick city, and to re-enact the same with
amendments.
