Mr. Beck presented the petition of Charles H. Davis and
42 other citizens of Chestertown, praying for the repeal of
section 35, of Public Local Laws, title, "Chestertown."
Also,

The petition of John Brice and 85 other citizens of Kent
county, praying for a law to protect Fox Hunters,

Which were severally read and referred to Messrs. Beck,
Wilmer and Brown.

Mr. Shower submitted the following order :

Ordered, That Mr. Winters is absent on account of sick-
ness in his family.

Which was adopted.

Mr. McCreery submitted the following order :

Ordered, That the House bill relating to the powers of
the Mayor, Aldermen and Common Council of Frederick,
which was reported by the Committee on Corporations, and
re-committed to the Frederick delegation, be printed.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Thomas, of Frederick, submitted the following order :

Ordered, That leave of absence be granted the Committee
on Agriculture to visit the Agricultural College of this State,
on Thursday, February 3, to hear a lecture to be delivered by
Benjamin Hallowell, Esq.

Which was adopted.

On motion of Mr. Biddle,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to in-
troduce a bill to incorporate the Elkton and Massey's Rail-
road, in Cecil and Kent counties.

On motion of Mr. Wiley,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Inspections to in-
troduce a bill to amend the Gauging and Inspection Laws of
the State.

On motion of Mr. Wilmer,

Leave was granted to Messrs. Wilmer, Beck and Brown to
introduce a bill to add a new section to Article 14, supple-
mental to the Code of Public Local Laws, title, "Kent
County," sub-title, "Roads."

On motion of Mr. Hamilton,

Leave was granted to the Baltimore city delegation to in-
