On the question being put,
It was determined in the affirmative.

The Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal section 9, Article
38, of the Code of Public General Laws, relating to Fees of
Officers, passed March 18, 1865, and to enact the same with
amendments,

Was read the second, time and ordered, to be engrossed for
a third reading.

On motion by Mr. Clarke,
The Senate adjourned.

EVENING SESSION.
FRIDAY, March 25, 1870, 8 o'clock, P. M.
The Senate met pursuant to adjournment.
Present at roll call, the following Senators :

Messrs. Clarke, Fields, Grove, Henkle, Henry, Hyland,
Jump, Malone, Miller, Sellman, Sayder, Spates, Stephen-
son, Timmons, Wilson—15.

The President of the Senate being absent from the Seat of
Government,
On motion by Mr. Clarke,

Mr. Spates was elected President pro tem. of the Senate.
On motion by Mr. Clarke,

Leave was granted to Senators Henkle, Wilson and Clarke
to introduce a bill to be entitled an Act for the relief of J. B.
Magruder, late Inspector of Tobacco Warehouse No. 1, and of
persons employed under him in said warehouse.

The Senate bill entitled an Act to increase the number of
incorporators in an Act to incorporate the Westernport and
Potomac Railroad Company, passed January session, 1853,
chap. 219.

Was read the third time and passed by yeas and nays,
as follows:
AFFIRMATIVE.

Messrs. Browne, Miller,
Clarke, Sellman,
Fields, Snyder,
Grove, Spates,
Henry, Stephenson,
Hyland, Timmons,
Jump, Wilson—15.
Malone,
NEGATIVE—None.

Said bill was then sent to the House of Delegates.
