for damages awarded by the jury, upon ratification of inqui-
sitions for condemning lands, reported it without amendment. Said bill was then read the second time. Mr. Stephenson, from the Select Committee, to whom was
referred House bill entitled an Act to declare the sanction of
the General Assembly of Maryland, to the bequest of
Stephen Rigdon, late of Harford county deceased, of the
Rock Ridge Regular Baptist Society or Church in said county,
asked to be discharged from the further consideration thereof. On motion by Mr. Stephenson, Said bill was referred to the Committee on Judicial Pro-
ceedings. On motion by Mr. Wilson, Leave was granted to the Senators from Prince George's
and Carroll counties and the second legislative district of Bal-
timore city, to introduce a bill to reduce the fees for keeping
prisoners in the jail of Prince George's county, and to in-
augurate other retrenchments of county expenses of said
county. Mr. Earle, from the Committee on Finance, to whom was
referred House bill entitled an Act to repeal section 4, of
chapter 466, of 1868, entitled an Act to run, define and
mark the dividing line between Prince George's and Mont-
gomery counties, and re-enact the same so as to read as fol-
lows, reported it without amendment.
Said bill was then read the second time. Mr. Earle, from the Select Committee, to whom the leave was granted, reported a bill entitled an Act to repeal section
108 of chapter 161, of the Acts of 1865, relating to gates on
the public roads in Queen Anne's county. Which was read the first time. The Senate bill entitled an Act to add an additional sec-
tion to Article 30, of the Code of Public General Laws, title,
"Crimea and Punishments," said section to be entitled "De-
faulter," Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for third reading. The Senate bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Wicomi-
co Exchange Bank, Was read the third, time and passed by yeas and nays, as
