TUESDAY, February 1, 1870.

The House met and was opened with prayer by the Rev.
Dr. Edwards.

Present at the call of the roll the following members:

Messrs. Latrobe, (Speaker,) Loker, Martin, Beck, Wilmer,
Wills, Owings, Duke, Mitcbell, Chapman, Cameron,
Shipley, Choate, Turner, Hardcastle, of Talbot, Brattan,.
Lankford, Harrington, Woolford, Meekins, Touchstone,
Owens Richards, Biddle, Wootton, Duvall, Thomas, of Queen
Anne's, Brown, Dennis, Purnell, Thomas, of Frederick,
McCreery, Ritter, White, Baldwin, of Harford, Streett, Hop-
kins, Hardcastle, of Caroline, Garey, Sanner, Morse, Blake,
Webb, Wiley, McLane, Colton, Kirk, Collins, Ehlen, Gard-
ner, Marshall, Hoblitzell, Neill, Welty, Sword, Seibert, Hil-
ton, Watkins, Kean, Wilson, of Allegany, Standish, Myers,
Percy, Shower, Jordan, Crouse, Merrick, Gorman, Craw-
ford—69.

The Speaker laid before the House the report of the Clerk
of the County Commissioners of Worcester county.

Which was read and referred to the Select Committee on that
subject.

Mr. Webb presented the petition of Thomas H. Lewis,
Wm. H. B. Fusselbaugh and 30 others, of Baltimore city, for
the better protection of Wild Fowl.

Which was read' and referred to the Select Committee on
that subject.

Mr. Merrick presented the petition of the Archbishop of
Baltimore for power to convey a parcel of land therein men-
tioned.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Corpo-
rations.

Mr. Hardcastle, of Talbot, presented the petition of Geo. R.
Goldsborough and other citizens of Talbot county, praying
the enactment of a law authorising the removal of obstruc-
tions to navigation and the erection of a bridge or piers at
the narrows of Kent Island, Queen Anne's county.

Which was read and referred to Messrs. Hardcastle, of Tal-
bot, Hammond and Brown.

Mr. Harrington,

Presented the petition of Robert W. Williams and others,
