Said bill was then read the second time.

Mr. Fields, from the Select Committee to whom the leave
was granted, reported a bill entitled an Act to repeal section
9, of Article 38, of the Code of Public General Laws, relat-
ing to fees of officers, passed March 18, 1865, and to re-enact
the same with amendments.

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Timmons, from the Select Committee to whom the
leave was granted, reported a bill entitled an Act to incorpo-
rate the Newtown Gas Light Company.

Which was read the first time.

Also, from the same Committee, to whom the leave was
granted, reported a bill entitled an Act to incorporate the
Snow Hill Gas Light Company.

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Snyder, from the Select Committee to whom was re-
ferred House bill entitled an Act to add an additional section
to Article 4, of the Code of Public Local Laws, entitled
"City of Baltimore," sub-title "Police," and be section 827
of said Article, reported it without amendment.

Said bill was read the second time.

Mr. Malone, from the Select Committee to whom was re-
ferred House bill entitled an Act to extend the jurisdiction of
Justices of the Peace, in and for Dorchester, Kent, Caroline,
Calvert, Carroll, Queen Anne's and Worcester counties to
cases of assault and battery, reported it with the following
amendments:

Amend by inserting after the words "Queen Anne's," in
section 3, of line one : Anne Arundel, Prince George's, Har-
ford, Charles.

Also, amend title by inserting Anne Arundel, Prince
George's, Harford, Charles, after the words "Queen Anne's."

Which were severally read and adopted.
Said bill, as amended, was then read the second time.

Mr. Malone moved that said bill be read the third time
this day.

The yeas and nays were called, as required by section 27,
of Article 3, of the Constitution, and appeared, as follows :
