The Senate proceeded to the consideration of the Senate
bill entitled an Act to provide a new Code of Statute Laws.
of the State.

The question being upon the passage of the bill,

Said bill was then read the third time and lost for want
of a constitutional majority, by yeas and nays, as follows :

On motion by Mr. Earle, and by unanimous consent,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance to report
a bill to provide for the sale of the Maryland Hospital pro-
perty, in the City of Baltimore, and the completion of the
building of the Maryland Insane Asylum at Spring Grove.

On motion by Mr. Earle, and by unanimous consent,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance to report
a bill to add an additional section to the Act of 1868, enti-
tled an Act to authorize the Comptroller of the Treasury to
adjust and settle the accounts due by Collectors, Sheriffs,
Clerks; Registers and other receivers of public moneys in
cases where the indebtedness occurred prior to the year 1866.

Mr. Earle, from the Committee on Finance; to whom was
referred House bill entitled an Act to relieve the securities on
the official bond of J.B. Price, late Sheriff of Cecil county,
reported it without amendment.

Said bill was then read the second time.

Also, from the same Committee, to whom was referred
House bill entitled an Act for the relief of Miss Margaret H.
Armstrong, of Baltimore county, reported it unfavorably,

And the report was adopted.

Also, from the same Committee, to whom was referred
House bill entitled an Act for the relief of John H. B. La-
trobe, and authorizing the Appeal Tax Court of Baltimore
