city to correct errors in the assessment of his property in
Baltimore city, reported it unfavorably,

And the report was adopted.

Also, from the same Committee, to whom was referred
House bill entitled, an Act to repeal the 7th section of Arti-
cle 28, of the Code of Public General Laws, relating to the
correction of errors in the assessment of property not liable
to be assessed, and insert in lieu thereof the following sec-
tion, reported it with the following amendment:

AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Amend by striking out all that occurs after the word
"error" in the 9th line, section 7, and insert in lieu thereof,
the following:

And the Judges of the Appeal Tax Court of the City of
Baltimore, shall give a certificate of such erroneous assess-
ment to the person aggrieved, who shall present the same
to the Mayor and City Council of said city, who are hereby
authorized, to make provisions to refund, the amount thus
paid in error, so far as the same relates to municipal taxes
thus paid in error.

Which was read and adopted.
Said bill as amended, was then read the second time.

Mr. Spates, from the Committee on Corporations, to whom

was referred House bill entitled an Act to amend the Act of
1866, chapter 156, entitled an Act to establish the Mary-
land Industrial School for Girls, &c., reported, it without
amendment.

Said bill was then read the second time.

Also, from the same Committee, to whom was referred
House bill entitled an Act to incorporate the town of Laurel,
in Prince George's county, reported it without amendment.

Said bill was then read the second time.

Also, from the same Committee, to whom was referred.
House bill entitled an Act to amend and. alter the charter of
the City of Annapolis, reported it without amendment.

Said bill was then real the second time.

Also, from the same Committee, to whom was referred
House bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Chesapeake Coal
and Iron Company, reported it without amendment.

Said bill was then read the second, time.

Mr. Spates, from the Select Committee, to whom was refer-
