Commissioners of the corporation of Smithsburg, to introduce
into said town any body of water that may be necessary for
a full supply for said town, reported it without amendment.
Said bill was then read the second time. Also, from the same Committee, to whom was referred the
House bill entitled an Act to aid and assist the fire depart-
ment of Hagerstown, reported it without amendment. Said bill was then read the second time.
On motion by Mr. Grove, Leave was granted to the Washington, Cecil and Dorches-
ter delegations to introduce a bill to govern and regulate the
rights and powers of the owners of lands and franchises along
the line of the Antietam Creek, in Washington county, and.
all other water privileges in the State. On motion by Mr. Clarke, Leave was granted to the Senators from Baltimore, Fred-
erick and Anne Arundel counties to introduce a bill entitled
an Act to appoint Commissioners for the purpose of laying-
out in building lots, the property known as the Almshouse
property, belonging to Baltimore county, and to lease or sell
the same. On motion by Mr. Clarke, Leave was granted to the Senators from Baltimore, Fred-
erick and Anne Arundel counties to introduce a bill entitled
an Act to appoint Commissioners to select and procure a site-
tor an Almshouse for Baltimore county, and to construct
such buildings as may be necessary for the same. The Senate bill entitled an Act to protect Fish and Wild
Fowl in the waters of Queen Anne's, Kent, Caroline and
Harford counties, Being on the second reading, the question recurred upon
the following amendment submitted by Mr. Fields : Strike out " or any military officer," in line 6, section 3,
and " or military officer," in line 7, same section. Which was read and adopted.
The section, as amended, was then adopted.
Said bill was then ordered to be engrossed for the third read-
ing. The Senate bill entitled an Act to authorize the Cumber-
land Coal and Iron Company to distribute certain of its as-
seta among its stockholders, and reduce its capital, Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for
the third reading.
