The Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal section 3, of an
Act passed March 21,1867, chapter 329, entitled an Act
to provide for the selection, drawing and summoning of jurors
in the several counties, and prescribing their qualifications,

and to re-enact the same with amendments,

Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

The Senate bill entitled an Act to require the Life Asso-
ciation of America to deposit certain bonds and mortgages
with the Comptroller of the Treasury of the State of Mary-
land, and to provide for the better security of the citizens of

the State of Maryland,

Was read the second time and ordered to beengrossed for a
third, reading.

The Senate proceeded to the consideration of the House
bill entitled an Act to authorize Jas. S. Morsell, Jr., of Cal-
vert county, Wm. B. Hill, of Prince George's county, and
Mason L. Weems and George F. Needham, of Baltimore
city, to construct a Pier at No. 3 Tobacco Warehouse, in
Baltimore city.

The question being upon the adoption of the amendments
submitted by Mr. Timmons,
